چکیده

This article presents an investigation on the application of amino acids to control CaCO3 crystallization in carbonation cured wollastonite composites. It was observed that carbonated without any acid formed calcite as primary polymorph CaCO3. In contrast, use admixtures resulted formation stable amorphous calcium carbonate (ACC), vaterite, and aragonite during wollastonite. The composites produced with were have a lower critical pore size, but higher total porosity, compared batch. Additionally, utilization increase flexural strength compressive up 106% 48%, respectively, Such performance enhancement presence attributed reduced size organic-inorganic hybrid phases matrix.

Performance of 2-Amino Tetraphenyl Porphyrin as Stationary Phase in RP-HPLC of Amino Acids

The search for new stationary phases has been one of the predominant concerns in high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) in order to achieve better resolutions, longer column lives, and reduce the time of analysis. A chromatographic packing for separation of underivatized amino acids (AAs) were prepared by dynamically coating 2-amino tetraphenyl prophyrin (atpp) on a C-18 reversed-pha...

Comprehensive Approach to Calculate Oxygen Diffusivity of Cementitious Materials Considering Carbonation

Oxygen diffusion would not be important for healthy concrete. Once concrete is carbonated, however, oxygen diffusion is very crucial to lead reinforcement corrosion. Therefore, oxygen is always a potential threat of reinforcement corrosion in concrete and oxygen diffusivity is a material parameter for service life determination and durability designing of the concrete. One of the simple approac...

Effects of layered double hydroxides incorporation on carbonation resistance of cementitious materials

The development of new or modified cementitious materials is an important part of existing strategies to improve performance and minimize life-cycle costs and to eliminate the CO2’s impact on durability. The high anion exchange capacity of layered double hydroxides (LDHs) materials makes their interlayer ion exchange by organic and inorganic anions versatile and easily achieved. LDH-like materi...

Effects of Carbonation on the Long-term Leaching Performance of Cementitious Wasteforms

Cement-based wasteforms are among the most commonly used waste disposal and site remediation options. However, concrete knowledge of the processes controlling long-term performance of the wasteforms is lacking. This research evaluates the effect of carbonation on cementitious wasteforms. Wasteforms were reacted with carbon dioxide for a prolonged period and then subjected to leaching tests. Ion...
